I am an Egyptian / German Producer and Sound-engineer based in Berlin, Germany.

I’ve had the privilege of studying at the renowned Abbey Road Institute and received my Advanced Diploma in Music Production & Sound-engineering in 2017.
Since 2019 I’ve been working as the second engineer at the Red Bull Music Studios Berlin while working as a freelance recording and mixing engineer.
Amongst other things I had the chance to shape the sound of the Above Ground YouTube channel where underground artists from the German Deutschrap / Hip- Hop scene were showcased.

I´ve been lucky enough to have been able to work at other professional Studios in Berlin like the Brewery Studios, Circle Studios for example and I am part of the Villa51 Studio team with Dhanya Langer and Marc Schillinger which is a professional production and mixing studio in outskirts of Berlin.

As a producer my aim is to create music / art that connects and inspires people while staying true to oneself.
Raga the SON is my producer alias and it’s a combination of the Hindi word Raga, and SON which stands for “Son Of Nile”.
Although I find it hard to place my musical style in on specific genre , I would say Trip-Hop is the closest Genre to describe it.
My main musical influences are : Roots Reggae, Psychedelic Rock, Egyptian Music, Hip-Hop, Soul and Jazz.
I always try to create from an intuitive place and let the inspiration do the rest while combining different parts and elements of my influences, be it rhythm, instrumentation, effects or melodies.
Music for me is an integral part of my life and my personality.
So I always try to create the truest and uncompromising music I can to stay true to myself and explore more my self.

As an engineer I give everything to help fellow producers & musicians to do the same and to carve out and translate their own artistic vision into sound.
I believe that sound-engineering is much more personal and artistic than just the knowledge of the tools and techniques.
For me it’s about finding the right tools and using the techniques in the best way possible to translate the vision and intention of the music and the inspiration behind it.
